I hope you understand that I was not upset at all. It may be my language issue so it may made you feel that I wasn't happy about your feedback. No! It's not. I always welcome feedback from my customer. I think you know that English isn't my native language but second language. If you talk to me by phone, you will understand me better. I sometimes replied very quick without going throw so call 'first draft', '2nd draft', and 'final' like what I was told in my English class. I was trying to reply most question as quick as possible so that my customer know that I care their question and feedback. So if my response offense you. Well, since you're an engineer like me, I think you understand my point and won't affect your faith on Marco

Regarding the size issue, one thing I can sure is that if the size of the machine is defined, the workable area is guaranteed. Say the machine is 900x600, that means that the cutting or engraving area is 600x400 or a little bigger like 620x410 something like that. I think a customer won't complain if the workable is a little bigger than what they buy, will they? If a customer need perfect size of 600x400, can I order it? The answer is "Yes". In general, I don't want to give so many 'requirement' to tech in the factory as doing so may interfere their job or causing unnecessary mistake.
About the shipping, if a customer is not willing to do local pickup or if pick up cost is not justify, I'll ship the machine direct from the manufacture to them, door to door. In that case, I'll have my buddy Mr. Lau, who is an expert in CNC machine to do QC for me. His dad used to do tools and parts (oem) for SONY. He is good on MasterCam, ProSHop, G-code,AutoCad.... And now, he work for me as a consultant and he will inspect each machine before shipping. We know the issue of other US customer having a lot of trouble to get the machine to run bought from China. Once a machine shipped, there is not much both side can do anything to the machine. Tech support is an issue and shipping cost is another matter. So, to avoid this hassle from happening, I always tell my partner and other tech there to make sure the machine is fully functioning without a problem. It is not about hardware alone but cosmetic is also important. They know my standard is higher than local order so they usually pay more attention to the machine made for me. The boss there always shoot me pictures and video for review before packing.
Some folks always yelled "Chinese product cheap and no good". when receiving a product that doesn't work or having quality issue. Well, that is a very sensitive topic. I have to say "It depends where you buy it from" and "How much did you pay for". Remember that iPhone, HP, Sony, .... so many companies are having their products manufactured in China. Is Chinese product really that bad? I don't think so. When most company selling a machine for $6~7000 and you pay $4000 with S/H included. Then, you shouldn't be surprised when there is an issue. Of course, some may challenge me by making this conclusion but not considering a 'great deal'. Well, I'm not challenging anyone but it is quite against the odd. Here is what I learned from over 10 yrs dealing folks in China. To get good services from company in China, most or less a friendship or good relationship must be 'established' or you won't go too far. That's why I traveled China twice a year to see my supplier.
Let me wrap things up other than talking too much and you may get bored. If no one has special requirement on a machine they want to buy, I will use specification obtained from the manufacturer as the standard. But if anyone has special requirement like size, color, weight, shape, ............. just ask and I'm open to taking special order that is feasible. I will try my best to get you one to meet your requirement. If you want pink, I can have your machine painted in pink. If you want working area 1195 x 885mm, then I'll make one for you with exact dimension even though I don't get the point why not use full 1200x900. Or, If you want the power Z table one the 6040 machine change from 200mm instead of 150mm, we can make you one but you pay more on the shipping cost. Or, if you don't want operation voltage of AC220V, we can make AC110V. I'm trying to be flexible as much as I can. I am not the man can do this magic work but they do - my partner company in China!
