I changed over my laser to an AWC608 DSP controller. I used lasercad for almost a year. Then when I would import a dxf everything would work great except for the engrave section. The software would change the size or location of the engraved section. I changed to a newer version of Lasercad and it got better for a little bit then started messing up again. I usually work with an image in Corel then export it out as a dxf. Then import it into Lasercad.
I downloaded Raycam, but cant get it to talk to my controller.
AWC-608 DSP controller what is best control software.

No, RayCam won't work with a 608, only the newer versions of the X7...
If you have a problem with the aligning of engraving and cutting, you should search the problem in Coreldraw, i think, as LaserCad works rocksolid.
What if you import a dxf and assign the parts you want to engrave to a different color (setting) in LaserCad..
I guess that the problem is that you import the cutting-file and engraving-file separate.... You have to import them both to keep them in reference (top-right corner, for instance. Then you can select which layers (colors) you send to the laser, but they keep the same position..
