Grounding issue on extrusion aluminum (frame case)

Post by Tech_Marco »

Folks, you may not know that the surface of extrusion aluminum does NOT conduct electric current because the surface is oxidized (high resistance). Therefore, you may encountered electromagnetic field problem when you're firing laser when system is built on top of those aluminum frame. If you have erratic issue like LCD screen flash, blank out, laser firing issue like missing dot or broken line. Those are the symptoms of poor grounding and you need to do some work on it

If anyone who bought our frame kit, make sure that you connect each join by a wire. To do this, drill a hole and screw in a wire. For laser power supply and DSP, I strongly recommended you to wire it the case by a separated ground and attached it to the 'neutral' leg from a AC plunge. Remember that you only need ONE end to ground it. You don't want to use two wires in 'closed loop' as doing so, electronics charge will not be able to "move" from high level to the lower level.

Remember, the combination of "Poor Grounding and Electromagnetics field" is the biggest enemy for CO2 machine with DSP controller!
