Power Table Stock

Post by sturgeo »

Does anybody know if the K40 power tables will ever be back in stock? i emailed a week or so ago and haven't had a reply yet.

I'm a new K40 owner and want to use the machine mainly for engraving but need to cut a few jigs first to hold the various objects, i don't want to attempt this on the standard bed with the engraving clamp removed.

The items i engrave are roughly 30mm deep so the standard height bed is of no use to me, has anyone used the 300 x 200 honeycomb table lightobject supply and fixed it at different heights? i'm not sure what comes with the lightobject table or hows best to mount it as the pictures don't show much.

Thanks

Head over to Buildlog.net they have a section for Building an open source laser cutter / engraver. Spend some time looking around and searching before asking questions. They have a area with PDF and DXF files and a couple are for building a table. The 2.x build uses a stepper motor driven power up/down table.

Sturgeo,

The last answer I got from Marco about the power tables was that he was working with a new and more reliable source. If I remember correctly, he'd said June would be a good time to be looking for the new tables. He'd also said that he had some that had been returned and required repair, you might want to try that route.
