I may carry parts to build solid state laser module DIY kits so one could buil a laser machine that capable to engrave metail like stainless steel, silver, iron,...
Some may say that engraving on metail could be done by CO2 laser. Yes/no. The result is a much difference in regard to the quality and the deep of engraving. When engrave stainless metail by high power CO2 laser, the image is kind of blurry, blunt, and cloudy colour. But with Yag, solid state, or fbler optics laser, the image is so crispy and clear. it can engrave a char as detail as 1mm in size

Marco, do you have a rough idea of how much it would cost to build one of those excluding the water chiller?

I wouldn't mind having one of those galvo heads for a CO2 laser.
The ones I have looked at were very expensive and I just can't find any info on connecting them up to the hardware/software DSP combination that we all use here.
I would love to cut really fine details in paper like lace work etc. Using the gantry set up is really slow and time consuming so I don't do it.
Maybe a little info or tutorial here would get us all started on something like this.
I would set mine up over the end of the table and just remove the first mirror on the gantry so the laser would go through the Galvo head instead and down onto a stage. You could set up a stage with a roll of paper on it and feed it through automatically for each new job like a paper feeder on a printer.
I would love one of these.

Without the chiller (need 1500W cost about $1000) and the compete body like the picture shown(exactly like a YAG), roughly it cost $9,500 to build one of 50W solid stage labeling machine (engraving and 0.05mm cutting [multiple pass]). Price is a bit more or less as there are a few parts can be selected either made in local or imported. Note, a fiber optics laser machine doesn't need a water chiller and it doesn't need a variable frequency power supply. So, it save almost $1,500. Plus, fiber optics is more stable than a solid laser machine. So, if you're not upgrade machine, I suggest you go for fiber laser machine instead.
