Cutting Aluminium Composite

Hi guys, I am wondering that whether we can cut 3mm Aluminium Composite sheets with 40w laser tube? Or do we need 600w laser machines to do the job like somebody told me? Cheers.

Impossible. Even a 150W CO2 can't cut a 3mm aluminum as it is harder to cut than stainless steel. If you have 200W tube + pure oxygen, you can cut through 2mm stainless steel. But he laser head need to be customized to avoid "Internal combustion".

I know this is an old topic, but I'm also wondering about cutting metal. Could the 150-180W laser cut through 16 guage (1/16, 0.0625") mild cold rolled steel?

Also, do you have a checklist of parts needed to build a complete laser system? After looking through the site I have a good of what is needed, but no matter how much planning you always forget to order that one part (I'm sure it's happened to all of us).
