Few Bugs - Input and -Outputs.

Post by nephertiti »

Hi Marco,

I have few problem and bugs maybe you could help me,

1- Open protect bug: It works ok. When I open door it stops and pause laser and system, but after when I press start/pause button timer continue (Laser and system not working and door open).

2- Food Switch: not working. basicly I connect In2 to ground with switch.(pressing switch nothing happens) (food switch opened on lasercad)

3-Water Protect: How can I connect flow switch on DSP Board, I tried to connect flow switch on Laser PSU(WP - Switch - Ground) but when switch active it only stops Laser power , X-Y still moves. So is there a way to connect Water Protect switch on DSP?

4-Output 1 and 2: Normally Output pin 1 & 2 outputs 24 volt to ground during a job. But It's opposite. 0 volt to ground during job when stops 24 volt.

LaserCAD version 6.71

Main Board : 7.13.06.22
LCD Board: 5.12.02.29

1- Open protect bug: It works ok. When I open door it stops and pause laser and system, but after when I press start/pause button timer continue (Laser and system not working and door open).
Ans: You need to close the machine cover in order to be able to resume a job by press "Start"

2- Food Switch: not working. basicly I connect In2 to ground with switch.(pressing switch nothing happens) (food switch opened on lasercad)
Ans: I never used it so I got to test it next week

3-Water Protect: How can I connect flow switch on DSP Board, I tried to connect flow switch on Laser PSU(WP - Switch - Ground) but when switch active it only stops Laser power , X-Y still moves. So is there a way to connect Water Protect switch on DSP?
Ans: Usually you connect the water protection device to the laser power supply "WP" and "Ground". When the water proteciton activiated (no water), it disable the laser power. But the XY still working and that is normal

4-Output 1 and 2: Normally Output pin 1 & 2 outputs 24 volt to ground during a job. But It's opposite. 0 volt to ground during job when stops 24 volt.
Ans: That is normal. It is logic "Low" output. When there is no output , the Out1 and Out2 appear "High" (24V). When triggered, it output "Low" (0v). You can ust +24V vs Output for positive logic or Output vs. Ground for negative logic

Marco Thank you for an amazingly fast response.

1- I know , but why timer continue when I press start when cover open(Job is still standing. Laser and X-Y stops) , I know it's not a big deal but still It's better timer stops too.

2- Ok I will wait.

3- So what about DSP Water protect? This feature does not work? It is better X-Y stops too , so the operator may continue after resolving the problem.(More useful when long engraving job , Usually I sent 2 hrs engraving jobs, when laser off and XY continue I have to start all over again.)

4- Ok I will try.

I tried the foot step and it worked fine. You need to enable it by using LaserCad to open the parameters setup.
By the way, the foot step is in "Toggle" mode. It means that Step it (either let go or stay), it is ON. Step again (either let go or stay) it will be Off. That's what we called "Toggle" mode.

You may be confused with "latched" mode which means that step on the pedal to turn On, let go foot pedal to turn is Off. No, this is not the case

Thank you Marco , now it's worked :)

I need this feature. Please if there is a solution , tell me.

Thank you.

Not sure how you test the water protection on the DSP but I never seem any card that won't work. You need to read the manual and do some testing. Usually, you installed the water protection to the laser power supply instead. It works the same way

Sometimes when want to test the machine without water flowing and no laser firing. S,to stop the XY when water is not flowing isn't a good idea. If you really want to stop the XY when water flow sensor is triggered, you may want to think about to use the IN2 (foot pedal) to stop it. It will stop XY stage when level low (0V) when IN2 is grounded. I haven't tested it yet and will give it a try when I get back to office

Hi Marco,

Options > System settings > Manufacturer Parameters > Under IO there is water protect. I ticked. After connected my flow meter on DSP ( Protect and Ground pin on Laser1). When I press Start button getting Error Mesage on LCD "WATER PROTECT".

I tried lot of wiring combination on DSP but none worked.

I found this on buildlog:

http://www.buildlog.net/wiki/doku.php?i ... controller

Image

from thunderlaser controller.

I tried same connection but not worked again.

Can you please check it.

Thank you.

Sorry I was busy doing some testing for the machine and forgot about your issue. I'll try to do it today
Remember that when you see that "Water protect error", it means that there was no water flowing. Did you install the water sensor "inline" with your water pump and having water flowing? If you didn't, then it was normal to see that error

Marco:

Yes, I did like you said. By the way I can see red led light on DSP when water flow. But still getting error.

Ok waiting your test.

Thanks.

Found the problem.
You need to ground the Water Protection on laser teo output terminals because DSP doesn't know which one Laser1 or Laserw is running

Mystery solved. No bugs found. Star ship `LO' keep patrolling the earth to kill bugs

When you look at the DSP main board, there are two Laser Output port. The one you're using should be Laser1 and the laser 2 is right next to it. What you need to do is to get a piece of wire to tap the "Protection" on the Laser2 to the ground, the problem should be fixed. If still not capable to figure out, then you need to give me some time to draw a diagram. I'm sure you can handle it

Start ship "LO" full throttle to travel in light speed to the Jupiter station for dinner
