TET 612 Temp Controller have not controll over relay 2
I have a tet612 and have it all configured for my K type probe. I have selected Outy of 0. This should make AL1 (J1) and Al2 (J2) relays active with no SSR output. I want to use Relay 1 (J1) to control a smoke house and relay 2 (J2) to control an alarm if the smoker goes out of temp range. So I have AH1 set at 150 and AL1 set to 160. My gas valve is hooked to relay 1 (J1). The smoke house works very well like this. I have AH2 set to 170 and AL2 set to 450. I can not get relay 2 (J2) to fire in the range of 170 to 450 degrees. If I setAH2 and HL2 to some very high values the relay will come on and stay on. This device works so well I know that I have some little thing out of parameter, but I have 20 hours into trying to figure it out and am only getting frustrated. Please help before I burn down my shop! Do I need to swap J1 and J2? Will The SV input do anything in this configuration?

Re: TET 612 Temp Controller have not controll over relay 2
I have AH1 set at 150 and AL1 set to 160. (it keeps the smoke house nicely in that range) This is the range that my smoke house needs to operate at for smoking meats. Is it hooked to the 24v solenoid on the gas valve by way of relay 1 (J1). I want AH2 set at something like 200 degrees to be the closed point on relay 2 (J2) to set off an alarm, and AL2 at whatever the max rating is for the probe. If the smoke house has a grease fire or the wood box catches fire, and I am in the front I may not know until the meat is ruined. It happened a week or 2 ago. The alarm would let me know that there is a problem long before it gets out of hand. Everything was ok, but it could have been realy bad.
I tried using the PID with Outy of 1, but relay 2 (J2) went nuts and was on and off all over the place. If I used the filtering this worked ok, but it is to complicated for my employees to figure out. I messed with the parameters of the PID, and it got a little better. I could burn up a tone of time trying to get that programming working just right. It may be the only way however. I am trying to keep this simple and not put in external relay in SV mode. Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: TET 612 Temp Controller have not controll over relay 2
I tried setting the AH2 higher than the AL2, but that did nothing but leave relay 2 (J2) closed as well. AH1 and AH2 are relay closed right. If I want the relay to close and set the alarm or fire the smoke house I need to have the AH value lower that the AH. That is were the alarm is not working. If I set the AH2 as the lower value the realy is always closed. If I set the AH2 as the higher value the alarm never goes off. Would it work if I set the AH2 and the AL2 to a value that is close to the over temp ( say AH2 of 200 and AL2 of 190). The alarm should go off when the temp passes 200 and the alarm would shut off as the temp dropped down under 190. Is that right? I will try this in the morning. I think I may have answered my own question.
