Hi All hope someone may be able to help me with my laser issue.
The laser was working fine and i went to use it again one day set it all up and pressed start and no Laser.
I looked on line and found it may be the laser tube or the power supply. Looking at ways to test it i thought i will just get a new one.
So the New laser tube and Power supply arrived on the same day. So put the new tube it test it and nothing..
Put the new Power supply in with the new tube and nothing
Put the old tube back in with the new power supply and nothing.
What can i look into that may be the issue or test..
My machine is 60w and is a DWIN 6040
Its 5 years old and i only use it to brand my parts and some things on the side
so at times doesn't work for a few weeks then half a day or so..
Thanks
James

Re: 60w CO2 Laser not working
Check the water protection sensor or wire. I think you may have a broken water sensor or lose wire.
Water sensor is a tubing devices with a floating sensor switch (hall effect) installed. When no water is running through it, the switch is in OPEN stage and the laser power supply (LPSU) is disabled. Once there is water current floating, the sensor will change stage from Open contact to Closed contact to bridge "Ground" and "WP". The LPSU than being enabled

Re: 60w CO2 Laser not working
Thank you. I will check this out hopefully tomorrow. Its a tight space to get into. I wonder if it has jambed (the Float) from all the down time. Meaning there could be a month or so inbetween usages.
also i dont think i have changed the water in a while..
SO if i get a wire and bridge WP and G it should bypass the sensor and tell me if that is the Problem..
Will let you know how i get on..

Ok yes done that and yes there is a laser when i press the test button.
So means the water sensor is damaged or something??
The is water flowing through it as i took the bottom hose of and it flowed out..
Am i able to leave this loop in and still operate the machine untill i get a new Sensor????
Thank you for your help

Also check orientation of your water sensor. The 1/2" sensor I bought from LO only works in certain orientations as its gravity driven.
