Problems after new reci z2 80-900w tube (bought at LightObje
bought a new 80-90w nz2 reci tube from light object. Got it installed. after doing the full alignment procedure. took quite some time to get it perfect. I made 2 passes last night on wood set at 20% machine power - seemed to cut beautifully. Today when I returned to the laser, I decided I woiuld tackle some acrylic - 1/4 inch, nothing too fancy, a simple engraving. Now with the laser set to 100% power and using laser cut software to control the power output using color guides for power and speed - set laser all the way up to 75% power and still will barely cut the masking paper on the acrylic. Will barely make a score line when set to 100% power. I retested the same piece of wood I cut the night before, now will only make a burnt very light engrtaving at 100% power. Any thouights? I have cleaned all the lenses, tested the power supply output, and verified alignment. Tube seems like it may have died. If Iwill get a power probe to check it. Could use some help. Getting frustrated. LOL. Thank you for your help..

check your alignment. make sure it didn't drift.

What power supply you have?
It is not common to have defective Reci tube once it worked.
Most likely it is power supply or alignment issue

Will retest alignment on Thursday. Noticed in my laser cut software the laser type was set to analog signals. Should this be set to pulse width modulated (PWM)? The power supply shows 27 ma when test firing. While engraving the meter shows lower voltages, somewhere between 7 and 10 ma while engraving. I assume this is correct as the laser tube is only turned on in pulses during actual working. So, I am also assuming the power supply should be good. Re-tested the same piece of wood, set at 75% power it engraves the wood about an1/8 inch deep, but still will not etch the acrylic and will not cut 1/4 acrylic even set to 100% power.
