water protect

Hi there

I am having a bit of a problem trying to wire up the water protect switch to the laser connection (laser 1)

Previously the machine was running with this disabled in the controller (air cooled laser), but now I am trying to connect the protect (pin 2) to ground (pin 5) through the water flow switch.
Every time I try to start a job I get a water protect message on the screen.
I have tried leaving it open circuit & I have tried shorting the pin out both with the same result.

Is there something else I am missing?

Here is a pic of how I've shorted the wp to ground & the message that comes up.
The message is displayed weather the WP signal is grounded or open circuit.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks
Alex

Has anybody got the water protection wired on their controller?

How do does every-one else do it?

Alex

If you enabled the 'Water protection' on the controller but want to bypass it. You need to put a pass cable on both laser port; Laser1 and Laser2.
If you don't need the controller to handle water protection (normally we don't use it), you can disabled it without bypass cable like what you have done so far
