Ok guys the above did not work.
Are we sure that the diagram above is right?
How should the switches be set.
I have the controllers ones all on.
I have the drivers all on.
Does:
PUL on controller go to PUL- on driver
DIR on contgroller go to DIR - on driver
Is +enable, -enable left open on stepper driver
Does ground on the UP and DOWN keep it off?

I have no information on either the stepper driver nor the controller so I cannot troubleshoot this thing,

I put together a clearer schematic of the wiring attached.
Please look at this and see if you see anything wrong.

I don't know if the input switches are right as I don't know what the Boolean table for In1-4 is?
In any case I have In1 and In2 disconnected.
One thing that bothers me is that my 24v is reading 22v when the stepper is connected.
All the green LEDs are lit and the alarm LED on the stepper driver is not on.

Do you have a DVM on hand? If you do, check the motor pair see if you got it right. Sometimes the cable that comes with the motor is not in pair sequence. Check BRN/ORG and RED/YEL with resistance check. It should show you some reading with the ohm (resistance check).
The diagram seems ok and I don't see anything wrong.

BTW, use either 1/8 or 1600 on the motor driver setup. Set the current to 2.0A
Also, on the SC04 motor driver board, Set both S1 & S2 to "ON" position (momentary)

Wait.... I have a doubt on the S1 S2 S3 switches setup. May be you should use bare wire to test it before using the switch. It looks like to me that somehow you broke the connection with Up/Dn toggle switch

I checked the motor and each set of winding has resistance (like 1 ohm) so I think they are ok.
I am using 200 on the step frequency so I will change that tonight. However, nothing seems to move, get warm or make any noise.
I am thinking that the controller is not sending signals?
Should there be pulses on the PUL pin? Does the PUL- on the stepper driver need a ground pulse to step one step?
I have disconnected the switches from In1 and In2 but I do not know what these signals do and what state they should be in to do something.
Are they both supposed to be at ground and then when either is opened with the other grounded it should step?
Again, I am asking for some kind of a setup or user guide that tells me what the inputs should be?
I have tried the controller switches both on and off. I will set them to both to "ON" again.
BTW I found out the low voltage is because my power supply was set to 220 and connected to 110. Now it reads 24v.
When the setup is ON it measures about 600ma draw from the supply further making me think the driver is not getting step commands.

In most case, you don't need to connect anything to the Ground, same to the Enable which is always being ignored.
Here is the basic diagram of the SC04: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1493
As I said, the problem may be caused by the S1,S2, and S3 switches you used. Also, there is on board speed adjuster. May be you should tuned it in the middle to avoid "zero" speeding is used by mistake.

Step set at 1600
Current at 2 amps
Motor controller switches set to ON
I connected the In1-4 to ground and tried various combinations of ungrounding.
Nope nothing yet.
I connected a different stepper I use for testing so I could tell if it is energized out of the ztable.
The stepper had current to it (its detent-ed) and you cannot move it with the power on. When not power it moves freely.
It still does not step.

My next plan is to move the setup to the bench with the test stepper and scope the output of the controller.
I assume:
I should see pulses from PUL and DIR should be high or low dependent on direction? Is that right.
I am attaching photos to show the setup in hopes you see something wrong.

Now that the lift works it is apparent that one of the threaded shafts is bent. Can I get a replacement please?

I am in need of a replacement shaft for my z table.
One of the shafts is bent and I did not notice until now since I am finally in an operational mode.
