Stepper Motor Issue
Hi All,
My 1st post here. I have upgraded to the AWC608 upgrade kit. Since upgrading the stepper motors in the XY have been moving very slow and not stepping properly. The motors work fine when using the manual controls but when I send any job from LaserCAD it doesn't work. A simple text engrave is estimated to take 20 minutes which I also find strange. I have double checked the settings on the stepper drivers and they are correct with the documentation I got for the upgrade. Any help is greatly appreciated

Re: Stepper Motor Issue
I can't open the link somehow. What I need is the manufacture and User parameters setting from the LaserCad, not from the LCD panel. Please use screen catcher and post it here. Image size is limited to 1500dpi
Thx

Re: Stepper Motor Issue
What micro stepping are you using on the motor drivers?
Can you post some pictures on your machine?
It seems that the Y has 2:1 reduction gear but Not on X, right?
Is it linear guide or Y wheel system?
You may want to lower the Space_Jerk and Cut_Jert to 25,000 and 20,000 respectively.

Re: Stepper Motor Issue
Maybe the um for x/y are not set properly in the manufacturer parameters?

You tell me
See the "FAQ" where I showed how to do 'um' calculation. Let me know if you have any question.

Here are a few pics of the machine. The stepper drivers and the sheet I got from LightObject to follow for setup

Re: Stepper Motor Issue
Those pictures don't tell much.
No stepping info, No current setting, and no motor information.
You need to show us the driver setting and the specification of the motor.

Re: Stepper Motor Issue
The stepping info I was supplied with the kit is in the pics. 0.63A, 16 Microsteps? I can't find the data sheets for the motors....

Re: Stepper Motor Issue
The stepping of 16 seems ok. But you got to find out the current rating. Without proper current it could be under current causing escaping or overheat when over current. Well, you may need to do "test and try". How big of your machine?
