PHCad connect machine message

Hello Everyone
I've installed a DSP board PH-Board V2.0 in a K40 laser and can't get it to communicate with a HP laptop running XP with PHCad and Corel version 12 installed on it..
The DSP board was purchased March 11/11, order # 916-548974
I am using PHCad version PHCAD.38.exe to install. Perhaps it's not the correct version for the PH-Board V2.0
Is there a special sequence to getting the whole system running, like starting PHCad or Corel first?
After starting PHCad I get these 2 messages " 1 Communication unsuccessful " , ( and selecting OK results in this message ) :2 USB comm right
I tried starting Corel first and then PHCad with same results.
I'm on my way to substitute another USB cable, it's worth a try.
Unless the PHCad software is the wrong version for the DSP board, I can't think of any other remedies, and am open to suggestions and any help.
thanks
Denis

Hi All,
I missed installing the USB driver before installing PHCad, and have the USB communication working now after installing the driver
cheers,
Denis

i'm getting the same problem, only i've installed the drivers. serial port shows up on COM5, still get the "Check USB connected. 2. Check COM" error message.

Any ideas?
