Power and speed settings not sending to laser

Hi All,
I've upgraded my K40 laser with the X7 DSP upgrade kit and have cut the duck out of foam board as well as engraved a panel design from LaserCad. My issue now is that when I set the power/speed to cut in LaserCad and send it to the K40 the file gets there and the laser works but the default power/speed settings never change on the laser. No matter what power/speed I set the software to, the laser stays at the default. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
