Slope Engrave only slopes virticle lines not horizontal?

I tgurned on SLOPE engrave and specified a 2mm slope, I then sent some 15mm high text to the DSP with a chunk of wood in the laser.
What I expected was a nice gradual slope to the character like the fist one but got more like 2 and 3 in the drawing below... Anyone know why slope only works on verticle lines with LaserCAD?
I would like to engrave sloped letters on various materials but this is totally useless... Another BUG in LaserCAD ?
