JLD612 with bad button?

Hi,
I have a JLD612, and it appears that out-of-the-box the 'Increase' button doesn't work. I've taken it apart and checked the button itself (works); and traced the lead from the button back to the micro-controller (I had to unsolder one relay) and checked the continuity, and all the solders seem to be good. So it seems to me that the problem is actually in the micro-controller, which is...odd. Has anyone else had any similar problems?
