Combiner and red dot

Marco, I am having a significant problem with two parts:

1. Pro 25mm beam combiner mount with laser pointer
2. 5mW 650nm Red Laser pointer with adjustable focus point

My THIRD red laser pointer has stopped working. After I focused the pointer, I inserted it into the top of the combiner mount. Since the fit is tight, I need to put some a small amount of force on top of the laser pointer to move it far enough into the combiner mount to allow the mirror to fit back on top. However, as soon as I put ANY force on top of the pointer, the laser light dies.

Am I somehow dis-activating the laser by putting pressure on the end where the beam shines out (as opposed to the end the wire comes out)? Or is it breaking? This has now happened to two replacement laser pointers.

Should I be inserting the laser pointer into the beam combiner mount in another way?Unless I'm using an incorrect technique, or the parts I've received are simply malfunctioning, I see no way to make these pieces fit together without the laser pointer breaking.

This is very frustrating, as I cannot align (and subsequently use) the laser without a functional red dot alignment. Please provide guidance on what I should do to so I have a functional red dot alignment system.

Not really sure how you ended up two diode dead as we never received a complain before. The two complain I received , one was burned because of wrong voltage applied,24v instead of 5v. Another case was unknown, could be electronic driver issue. You really don't need to apply a lot of force to set the diode into the bean combiner. It us almost perfect fit.

May be you can post a few image to show your setup. You can return the two diode for replacement. We can set the focus and test it for you

Don't know about this particular laser pointer but;

many of then need the outer metal case insulated from ground.

If it stops working as soon as you insert it into a metal support/holder then this may be a problem.

I ended up removing the sticker and cleaning the adhesive off with some alcohol. It slid into the tube a little easier. Can't help you the broken aspect though.

I have a question about your beam combiner. Can you tell me size of the shaft? I'm trying to figure out if it will fit my 50W eBay machine (Shenhui Laser SH-G350).
I can place it right after first mirror and attach to the left side (horizontally). Distance from wall to the lens opening is 80mm.
