Importing Fonts

I am lasing some wood shapes with monogram fonts and they are not importing into LaserCAD correctly. When in CorelDraw they are solid and when sent to LaserCAD they are outlined. What do I need to do to keep them Solid for rasterizing in LaserCAD?
Thanks,
Bill

Filled up = engraving
To see engraving effect (filled), you need to enable it under "Option"

All that LaserCad is interested in is the outlines.
It will engrave inside a closed vector at the scan gap set.
As Marco said if you want to see a visual representation of the areas that will be engraved (filled) set the option "Simulating show objects of engraving"
Some will tell you that the artwork must be bitmap to engrave. That is not so.

A better label would read "Fill Engraved Objects"

Thanks for the quick responses Greolt and Marco. I apologize, I didn't ask the right question.

What is happening is that in CorelDraw the fonts are are filled with black but when I run the macro, to send it to LaserCAD, it removes the fill and sends the fonts to LaserCAD with outlines only. Then when I select raster for the fonts in LaserCAD all I get is rastered outlines.

- This is the fonts before sending to LaserCAD via the macro.

- This is what the fonts look like in CorelDraw after the macro runs and sends them to LaserCAD.

- Here are my layer parameters in LaserCAD

- Here is the system settings that you had me change. Even with this setting the fonts are only outlined.

What you need to do is to select the text layer and set the correspond color on the right side menu box and select "Engrave"
That should change it to 'Engrave & filled'.
Let us know if it works out

I am not quite following where you are talking about. Is this where you are talking about? This is where I am telling LasderCAD that the black layer is a raster layer.

OK, I finally figured out what is going on.

If you add a contour to the font in CorelDraw it will not raster the fill in LaserCAD correctly.

If I take the contour off it works the way it should. Can this be something that can be looked into? Some fonts, like the monogram font, need to be made boulder through contouring so the rasterized end result looks better.
Marco, why is it that when you run the macro in CorelDraw to send the file to LaserCAD it removes all the fill colors from the fonts? This means that every time I need to send fonts to LaserCAD after changing I have to go back and select all the words again and fill them before sending to LaserCAD again. The macro should not change anything in CorelDraw.
Thanks,
Bill

Try "Engrave then Cut" on the layer setting

When you do a "Contour" you are adding another line offset from the original. By default Coreldraw leaves both inner and outer lines.
If you send the result to LaserCad and set to engrave, it will engrave between the two lines. This is correct behaviour.
There may be an easier way but this is how I do it.
Convert text to curves, then do the Contour, then right click on it and select "break contour group apart", now delete the inner line. Send result to LaserCad.
