Lasercad control working / LCD keypad interface problems

This is a sudden problem involving control from the LCD that seemed to occur after pressing the format option in the lasercad download menu.

The machine functions as normal when controlled through the lasercad control interface. Homing, position reading, limits, distance of travel are all normal. I cut a few test pieces and they came out fine, laser power/xy divers are unaffected.

The issue seems to be on the DSP board when trying to control via the LCD panel.

These are the noticeable issues observed while using the LCD keypad:

1. The reset button no longer functions. Pressing the button from the main interface screen that indicates the values for file/num/power/speed/x/y has no effect. There is also no message of “system resetting…”
2. Upon powering on the system there is no reset movement, for the initial homing cycle.
3. X /y coordinates are no longer accurate. The origin can be zeroed on the keypad but if a limit switch is hit the position is lost.
4. The Pulse unit correction function no longer works via the keypad. The distance that the machine moves is no longer correct.

The LCD seems to function as normal when accessing all of the sub menus. I have tried the following.

1. Powering on/off
2. Formatting udisk from lasercad
3. Memory check from lcd panel
4. Formatting from lcd panel
5. Flashing the firmware with 140528v7
6. Resetting all “user prams” to default slow in lasercad
7. Verified and re-flashed all manufacture params via lasercad
8. Changing lots of values in the lcd menu, including
a. Soft layer params/lcd panel param

At this point I have done every thing that I can think of and am not sure where to go from here.

Thanks for any help!

Can you do Reset on LaserCad?
'It seems the panel template may be defective. Try unplug the flat cable out from the LCD and inserted again
It could be loae contact issue

Yes the reset in Lasercad works, it finds the limit switches and zeros out the machine.

I pulled the flat cable from the LCD and inspected it, no loose wires or connections. I also looked at the pins on the DSP board they look solid.

Also I don’t think it is the LCD template, because the LCD interface had been working fine for several months.

It is not the LCD key pad when I push the reset button there is a beep. So the button is good.

Here are some links to two videos.

This is powering on the DSP, and no homing cycle. Also you will hear the beep when I push the reset button.

This is the reset button working from lasercad

Post your parameter setting here as I found that there was something not right on the movement of the laser head from the video. I need to see both manufacturer setting and the user settings. It seems that the acceleration was very slow. It could be better by react faster. From the video I seem, the laser seems moving with latency

Also, I have feeling that it could be lose contact on the plug as the LCD beep on each keep pressing. May be one of signal pin got lose. Try to twist or shake the connector while pressing any key see if anything happen

I found the loose connection, It was inside the LCD. Pulled the wire and soldered the connection. Everything is back to normal operations, thanks.
