Which end is which?

This has to be about the stupidest set of questions you'll see here...

1) I have a LO 60W 1200mm tube. How do I know which end is the light output end? I'm assuming it's the end with the metal ring, not the terminated glass-only.

2) Does it matter which end the chilled water comes in?

3) Anybody have a photo of one installed in their machine?

Thanks.

Andy

It is the one with a mirror can be seem from the outside
Or, the opposite side of a glass coil .

Water in general is coming from the coil side the out at the beam output side

Thank you, Marco.

Next question - how are these attached to the machine. I'm sure they just don't lay in the V-block without some sort of top restraint.

Should there be a foam rubber between aluminum V and glass? Or is glass-to-aluminum OK?

Andy:

Sorry for late reply. What you need to do is to put a piece of soft foam on top of the mount will take car it. Or, a soft rubber can do the trick. You sure don't want to lay down on top of the metal mount without the cushion

Thank you. I have a great product for this.

What kind of retainer is used for the top of the V blocks? Do you sell them?

Great idea! I can get them from the True Value store where my son works.

Thank you!
