Exchange of power supply

Hi,
I've been repairing a small laser engraver machine but its power supply is faulty. I have a spare one, but it's different. Can I use this one? If so, do you have a diagram how to connect it and a manual. Thanks
Engraver machine, 40W CO2 tube, original control unit, without DSP

It should work but you got to know how to wire it up
I don't have that kind of power supply available. Otherwise, I can test it
In fact, if anyone has the original K40 power supply and no longer need it, I'm wondering if anyone can donate it so that I can hands on and test it with the DSP card. That way, it may save other folks an extra $200 for the power supply.
Even though the non-PWM quality is not as good as PWM, but it should be able to do decent job though.

Marco, I may have one for you. I'll contact you by PM.

Sorry Marco, just sold my K40 Moshi electronics on eBay! I was amazed

that anyone wanted them but I got well over $100 for them (mainly from someone whose system had died in the middle of completing an engraving order)!

Nick, bad boy!!
(good for you

)
Ok, no problem. I may have one somewhere after I did upgrade a system for my customer. I know that I have a even older version PSU for the K40 and it was terrible. I believed it killed my DSP because of compatibility issue. The contrast from engraving was terrible and the output control was terrible also. Then, it decided to kill itself after certain hrs, less than 10hrs for sure. The one now installed on most K40 may not be PWM but an analog type, it should work OK if wire is correct. But I need to test it myself before I can say it work good. For sure the quality is not as good as the one we're selling with PWM modulation. Cutting should be not much different but for engraving ... I think it does make some difference.
The most things that most of us can't tell the difference is: 1) Over-shoot voltage/current 2) Stability 3) duality
If it is same, then how come my cost was that much difference?! I must be cheated I guess
