Laser head tip getting extremely hot

I have a pro style laser head with air assist, my tube is 60 watts (running at about 30 -40 percent power and 18/20 ma) The tip of the laser head gets extremely hot, is this normal or is it related to poor mirror / head alignment? Any advice would be appreciated.

Not normal. Seems like alignment issue
What focus lens are you using?
Make sure beam is not hitting to the barrel or the tip

Hi Marco,
Thanks for the advice, will check alignment again. This might seem like a stupid question but the focus lens mirror is mounted with the convex side down? My lens size is F63.5 (ZNSE / 20 mm)

The flat side should be facing down while curve side facing up is recommended.
