Great news. I ordered AWC608, 2 drivers and a new ammeter. is there anything else i need for an analog meter, or just plug n play?

Great news, your LPSU fixed. I tried it on a 45W (1m), at 17mA for 10min and I didn't see current (through AC 110v) rising. It stayed at around 3.65A compared to 4A that keep rising till explode from last repair. By the way, fan was not turned ON and current kept stable so it looks good to me.
I am going to give another try by power it for 20min with full power.
You may want to getn analog current meter (30mA) to monitor the current. Without it, it is dangerous for the laser tube

Hey Marco,
Received the supply and installed it into my freshly rewired machine with the awc608, fired up laser cad and ran a few jobs with the longest being about 20min. Everything seems to be holding up! Thanks for all your help!

I don't know if I should start a new thread or not, but figured i might bring it up here since you repaired it in this thread.
I've recently phased out some 3d printed parts on my x/y access. I went to run a job tonite on my repaired PSU. The laser fired for the first few minutes, then shut off. This time however, no noise. I turned it off for a 5 min, turned it back on and test fired, no problem. I restarted the job and the same thing happened, except this time, it won't fire back up after power down. I cracked open the PSU, and the fuse has continuity and nothing looks or smells burnt. I've checked wiring w/ meter from tube to meter to psu and i've checked all signals at the lpsu inputs.
So, I've got a few questions.
1) Is there anything else I can physically look at or measure (meter, scope) to let me know if its the power supply?
2) When you repaired it last, what did you replace? It would be nice to not have to ship it back and forth across the states if anything is wrong!

Sorry, I just found your post yesterday. Someone in my office may read your post so that the 'new' indicator disappeared.
Is your machine K40? There is a fuse on the AC plunge. Check that see if it got blew.
Then, measure the voltage across the AC.AC terminal on the LPSU see if any voltage drop appeared.
Make sure the "WP" (water protection) is grounded or check the water sensor is functioning.
The "TL" should be used for LPSU enabled.
You may test the LPSU by doing the following steps:
1) Connect WP to the Gnd
2) Connect the +5V to the IN
3) Momentary connect the TH to ground should fire the laser in full power.
(note: don't fire the laser long in this configuration because current output will be the highest. It is no good for a small tube)
Let me know the progress.

I verified all data pins manually w/ a meter. I'll try with a spare connector with the minimal configuration that you suggest. If it is the PSU, I'm going to get a second one while this one is in repair.

If it is an error from me due to repair work, I will give you 50% off for the purchase of the second LPSU. Sounds good?

That sounds most generous! I'd already decided that you guys were the only vendor for me, but this just goes to show your dedication to your customer!
I wired up a test connector which i'll certainly save for future troubleshooting. No luck though, would not fire. I guess I'll start prepping it to send back. I don't expect you to repair it for free forever, so just let me know what you need from me and i'll take care of it!
Few more questions.
I've got another PSU from automation technologies that died because their "40w tube" is really more like "20w". Any chance you could repair that if i sent it along with the one i got from you? If not, in the trash it goes.
I'm starting to see some "growth" in my water journals. cloudy white chunks. Its not terribly much yet, but is there anything i can do to keep the water in good condition?

Good news = got the psu pulled and put the screws back in.
bad news = the back nipple cracked and let the gas out..

so i'm in the market for both a psu repair and a tube at a minimum.
I'll mail the psu back and address it to you, let me know what you find. In the mean time, looks like i'll be shopping for the biggest tube that will fit my machine / psu!

Tell me what you need and I'll see what I can do to get you a great offer. Also, send me the Automation PS and let me give it a shot (for free if I have those parts available). I do that because the LPSU has been repaired twice and you didn't give up on me (

). I felt I owed you a favor and I thank you your faith on me. It is not $$$ can buy So, let me take the honor, please!
