I too am having problems with raster and vector cutting in the 1 file.

I will be grounding the machine better tomorrow and see how that goes.

Stepper are usually 2, 4, or 5 Phase

They are wired up in Bi-polar or Parallel.

My plasma cutter has 5 phase motors on it and they run really smooth.

I'm not aware of any 3 phase steppers out there for sale or if any machines use them. I have a 3 wire motor that looks like a stepper but I don't know where it came from or even if it was used before and it looks too small for a typical 3 phase motor.

Sorry I can't be any more help.

Rich.

Hello!
I have a problem with engraving too. I guess it´s a settings issue... The output is skewed/slanted, it´s like as if every line is shifted one step to the left, and eventually the laser head will hit the limit switch. This is very consistent, and I don´t think it´s a mechanical problem.
Any ideas on that?

Thanks,
Per

It is in how you have your drive wired up. Read this: http://www.buildlog.net/forum/viewtopic ... 5638#p5638

Glad it worked.

BTW - I have a new blog that is focused on custom and home-built lasers. It also covers a lot of stuff about the DSP Laser Controller. It might help everyone to go on over there and subscribe to it so you know when I post new info you may need. I'd also appreciate it if you would give it a Like.
