Laser tube does not shut down after job run
Equipment: AWC608 DSP, LSR-JN80WCO2-2V Supply, 60 watt tube.
Set up my machine today for first test. Test fired laser with test button on power supply (no DSP connected), all o.k ( tube fires and turns off ). Connected the DSP and ran a test job, as soon as I started the job the tube fired and cut the job but did not shut off when the job was complete. Also noticed the laser did not turn off between different parts of the job, so cut lines can be seen on the job as the laser head moves into new positions. I am new to this so any help or advice would be appreciated. Have I missed something in the settings?

How did you connect the laser power to the DSP controller.
Did you use "TH" or "TL" ? Use "TL"
What about the "PWM"? How did you connect it? You should connect it to the "Input" terminal on the laser power supply

Hi Marco, have been away for several weeks: Current issues are:
1. Laser starts and stops at beginning and end of job run.
2. Laser does not turn off between moves between cutting areas on job (leaves cut marks on job).
3. Laser turns off if 'Reset' button is pushed and returns to home position.
4. Laser does not turn off when 'Stop' button is pressed but returns to job start position.
Apart from this issue everything is good. Any suggestions? I have checked the wiring and all is correct.

Same happened to me with my Synrad Firestar, had been working on a 20,000 hertz frequency, lowered it to 5,000 and it stopped doing that, still kept working allright.

For RF laser tube, yes frequency need to set it to 5000Hz. But for the laser it is a little difference.
But true though it is caused by frequency (internal frequency) issue. I need to get the information from the manufacturer to find out which 'pot' need to tune to get it fixed. There are about four pots installed and one is dedicated for frequency response like 50Hz or 60Hz AC power.

Thanks Marco and Hermes for your advice and suggestions, will wait for which pot to adjust to see if that corrects the issue.

Hi Marco, any news on which pot to adjust? Another issue I'm having is the 24 volt supply sometimes just shuts down during job runs, if I tap it or reset the power it turns on again. All connections are tight, do I need a filter on the 240 volt input (I have one on the Laser power supply currently).

I got the 120vac source conected to a Schafner FN 20 60 filter and then two Celduc SC842910 solid state relays, one for the laser tube's power supply and the other for the DSP's power supply.

The tech asked what happen if you disconnected the terminal (TL, PWM, Gnd) from the DSP, will the laser still firing or stop beaming? He wanted to know whether the cause is from a defective PS or a faulty DSP PWM control. Did a job run but connected the output to the Laser 2 position on the DSP (have not tried this before), I had no issues and all worked fine. Also did a test fire of the Laser Output 2 and it turned off as soon as I released the button. It seems that the issue is in the DSP Laser Output 1. Reconnected to Laser 1 output and had issues with laser not turning off as mentioned before in this post.

Any update? If Output#2 is doing good job and if you don't need to use two laser power supply to work together (most case people are not using both), then you can stick with Output #2.
