Reci tube Beam Adjustment
Hi, I am testing a new 150w RECI tube now. Every time I fire the tube, I got 1 big dot(around 8mm) and 1 small dot(around 1mm) next to the big dot on the testing material.
I thinks there should be only 1 big dot. Do you guys reckon the tube is faulty or it needs to be adjust somewhere?
Thanks.

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
It is not a fautly tube but "imprefection" on the beam spot. If the little spot is not too far away and able to reach the focus lens, the affect is very mininial.
I have a 100W installed on one of demo machine having similiar issue. But after the focus lens, no performance dropped could be seem obviously. You may put it on your machine and give it a try

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
Hi Marco,
Thanks for the info. I will put it on the machine and see how it works. Not very happy though since Reci is said to be the best C02 laser tube in China. Maybe their quality control is not the best though.
By the way, can you cut through 6mm MDF wood with 100W Reci tube?
Thanks.

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
I can tell you that Reci once a while may have some issue. We have two customers were complaining low power output or "miss fire" issue with Reci tube
The longer the tube, the more issue it could happen. I was told that the Reci 150W isn't very stable compare to lower power tube. Most 100W or 80W are very stable though.
You may contact Reci see if they can assist you for a replacement but I doubt it as it is not a faulty tube but as I said, "imperfection". Your tube should cut pretty much the same.
It is easy for a 100W tube to cut through 6mm wood. In fact, you can cut through 18mm pine wood with a 63.5mm focus lens at speed of 10mm/s or so. Longer focus lens take longer to cut but you get better cutting edge.

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
Hi Marco,
I put the tube on the machine, aligned the mirrors so that it used only the big beam. Now I can cut through 6mm MDF wood at 6mm/s, 48% power but barely cut through 9mm MDF. it seems that I lost some power of the tube due to the alignment. I am going to change to the 100mm Gaas lens to see any difference.
Btw, for a 100W tube to cut through 6mm wood, what speed and power did you use? What power should we use to make the tube last 10000h like Reci advertised?
Thanks.

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
Show me a picture how the beam look like when hitting the the first mirror
I don't remember the speed or if I have cut 6mm MDF before. I was trying to do it but somehow I "killed" my 100W tube after trying to clean the tube. Bummer!
To get 8000~10,000 hrs from a Reci tube, Reci suggest to use 80% power at most or 28mA

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
Well it looks something like this in the attached pic. I managed to take out the small spot out of the mirror but not sure how many percent I lost the tube's power. Maybe now it's just 70W tube
??lol

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
That looks bad to me. It seems that the internal mirror/lens is damage. You better call your supplier to report it to Reci before the expiration date. You may lose at least 10~15% in that matter

Re: Reci tube Beam Adjustment
By the way, I could cut through a 19.5mm pine wood with 10mm/s through a 100W tube. Even a K40 can cut through 9mm with speed 2mm/s. So, you better called the seller (if not me) to request a replacement
