PT-100 and JLD634 Connection

Post by astrocat »

I just bought a JLD634 controller and a PT100 thermocouple from Lightobject.com. Can you advise how the two should be connected? I am guessing the red wire to terminal 12, and the two black wires (are they interchangeable?) to terminals 13 and 14.

My apologies for such a simple question. I am obviously new to the field, and the manual is not very clear.

Thanks much. And Happy Holidays.

Thanks very much for the speedy reply. You guys are great.

However, I must admit some confusion at your reply. On the JD634 terminal 8 is marked 'Aux OutPut B', while 9 is ground, and 10 is 'Master Output +'. That surely can't be right? Also 8 is on the side opposite to 9 and 10, which is unusual.

Is it possible that you folks were thinking of connections for the JLD612?

Thank you for your attention.

Regards,
Peter

By the way, when you complete the set up and gain more experience of the JLD634, please share with us. There are a lot of confuse things happen to the manual and I need to work out a better one. The 'English' manual that I received from the manufacturer has a lot things need to be corrected. Sadly that I'm not an expert, otherwise I can make my own right away. Well, we're all learning, right!

Cheers!

Dear Marco:

Thank you very much!

The connections Red-13, blue-14, and blue-15 is what I inferred from your previous answer applied to the JLD612 assuming the two controllers have the same terminal markings. Thanks for confirming that.

I am excited about using the JLD634 for my research work. Up to now I have had to hand adjust an oven by hand on a daily basis over a period of more than a week. I also have to be very careful not to exceed a certain temperature gradient (slope) to avoid disaster. The JLD634 promises to make life easier, as well as to produce more consistent results.

I'll be happy to report my findings as soon as I get more experience. However, I am by no means an expert, and it is nice to know that you folks are right there behind your products if help is needed.

Mucho Gracias. And Happy Holidays.

Peter
