T9 and lasersoft

Post by seanchew »

Having problem to config the step pulse to drive my stepper. The pulley turns 60.96 mm per revolution and the motor is 400 steps per revolution.I think the setting should be 6.5616797 steps per mm but the head move way too mush and I don't know why. Also the manual mention (um) and what is this?

Here is my suggestion: Set your motor driver to 5000
Then, use the built-in 'um' calculator to find the proper UM value.
I have posted the info on how to do 'um' from the FAQ pages on this site

In order to do the um, I actually need to do a cut and compare the dimension after, I guess

Since this one give me so much trouble to setup and incomplete instruction, I just place an order for a newer R6 controller and give it another try and I hope this one have a better support and it can use lightburn software

No matter what software or card, the procedure to get um is pretty much the same. unless you are willing to do math calculation. By doing cutting and measurements seems the most easiest way.
