Beside cutting acceleration setting too high (600mm/s2), I don't see any 'odd' value on your settings.
So, when you recycling the power (Turn off then On) the machine, the laser head move a little but won't move to the X&Y limit switches at all? That's seems quite strange to me. The system must initial itself by touching the two limit switches so that it knows where is actual 'Home'. After home, it will move to the 'Origin' location where you can set by using the "Origin" on the LCD control panel. I think you need to shoot a video or I really can't tell what the issue, yet

Sure please see video, just view the beginning. But you described it correctly.

What should my cutting acceleration be?

There are also 2 other issues from the initial thread. Can you provide feedback on these as well please.

1) I cant manually move the motors right or down. Only left or right from the T9 Control pad
2) I often see "Insufficient buffer distance" when I upload an image to engrave. What does this mean? How do I stop it.

Not sure your Q1 : no Right or Dn but Ok Right and Left
Anyway, can you move it correctly through software?

Q2: You set the object too closed to the side. Remember that system need time to acceleration and deceleration.
If you drop the speed down, the error should go away

ah... that makes sense.

Ok, looking forward to hearing about why its not homing. I will check if it is moving via software and not via the front panel.

Could be back contact on "DIR" on the DSP controller or motor driver. The other reason could be bad LCD buttons template. Can only tell after your test on the software

You may open the LCD control box and re affirmed a flat cable is connected. Also, unplugged the Marian board connector and plug it back see if any difference made. If not, contact is through email for a LCD pad replacement

is there anyway to flip the axis in sw to test the buttons out without opening the box?

Aside from this the more immediate issue is not being able to home the machine. ANy luck with that?

Yes it should be covered on manual
Finished the homing first
Focus one issue first before moving back and fro

A few things:

1) I opened the box, all looks good.
2) I made sure the connections to the t9 were secure. All looks good.
3) I found where to change the key direction. Those keys (down and Right ) are reacting. They are simply now moving the motor the wrong way.
I flipped it back and its again back to left and up working and moving in the correct direction.

Do you still think this is a hardware issue?

Ps-I just tried something which maybe it will help you. I used the controller to bring the laser head all the back. so I used the left and up buttons on the controller. Once they touched the switch I was able to use the right and down buttons but only once. IDK if that helps.

What is the um for the Y?
You need to configure um for both X and Y

Or change the homing speed

Somehow I think your in is not right
Try 12.5 see how it goes
For both X and Y

Currently the gantry seems running out of distance ( may be due to wrong um values)so it stop
We need to get the gantry to touch the home switches before we can try something else.

One more thing: double check your micro stepping setting on the motor driver. Double check the DIP switch settings

Check the wire connection again and again

I tried setting the UM with 12.5mm by 12.5 mm as you mentioned. Same result.

Here are all the pics of all settings.
