autocad blocks not in correct position

Post by frayja2002 »

Hi all

I was wondering if someone would be able to shed some light on why lasercad always imports autocad blocks out of alignment. Please see attached pic.
In this file the spidery bit on the left is attached to the purple circle in autocad and any other program that I open the file with. Only when I import it into lasercad is it out of alignment.

I have tried several different cad formats and they all seem to be the same.
I have tried several different files & they all seem to have problems with bocks.I did manage to get someone to import and export a file in Corel draw and that fixed the problem but that seems to be using a hammer to crack a peanut.

Does anyone know why this happens and any ideas on how to avoid it.

Thanks
Alex

Can you send me the file and let me try it?
What version if AC are you using?

I will send it to the programmer for testing as well

Marco

Here is the file that I was having trouble with.

After a little further messing around it seems to me to be related to the base point that the block was created with, but I have not been able to work out the logic of it.

This file was saved in 2007 dxf format using bricscad 15 but from the testing I was able to do all different cad programs seemed to do the same thing.

hope to hear soon.
Thanks
Alex

I did an ungroup (in ACAD: X (explode)) and saved in DXF 2007 again. Then it imported right.. Maybe that helps?
Blocks in ACAD do have an unexpected behaviour...
