Rotary engraving both directions

Is it possible to rotary engrave in both directions? i have a y axis substituted rotary axis that is set up properly but can only engrave in one direction. the laser will fire correctly when turning clockwise. The rotary returns counter clockwise with no laser firing. it only engraves in the clockwise direction. My question is, is it possible to have the laser engrave in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions?

Update: Turn off Y-unilateralism and turn on y-swing. this will engrave both directions on the rotary axis, time savings of +/- 100%
