Adding IC's to the version 1.6 Laser controller board

Post by irfanulla »

Hi, folks,

Many know that these boards were shipping with missing IC's, mine was too- here are the pictures - what I would want to
know is that if I add on teh IC's would the U and Z axis be enabled, I have already designed my machine to work with
these axis and was somehow not contemplating not having them on the control board, since I purchase stuff ans stack till
I have enough funds to proceed - I took the long time back bought controller board and wanted to get it on the machine
when I have noticed these issues, hope I can get em solved with the help from Tim or macro or anyone else.

I need help on the following
1. I see HCPL 2630 optoisolator, I am guessing that needs to be added to U26 and U25
2. I am guessing U33 is 26LS31 in SMD form as used for X and Y
3. U28 shows some absurd marking as L247 which is not an IC name - kindly confirm what U29 should be??? this is to enable
Z axis limits
4. I will not be adding U31, U32 or VR1 or VR2 as I am not using 2 laser tubes (is that what it would have been used for)

But for all this to be fullfilled I would want to know if the firmware on the V1.6 board would actually support it - its
a bit void to see that after acarrying out all the changes and still the board does not work.
Hope you folks can help!

Regards
Irfan

You bet, I was in China. This time, it's not interenet issue but a more serious issue. I got beat up by a Western guy who was very mean to a waitor. I got knocked out and sent to hospital. 3 days later (now) I was able to use computer to check email and forum. This is crazy, not even a talk and the guy turn and hit me. If I wasn't food poision a day ago, it won't be that bad I guess.

I'll get more information and will post it here once I have enough info.

Just added TLP281-4 to the empty slot of U29 will enable Z limit. Just confirmed with the tech

Now all the new cardas are built-in with the option after my complains. They assume not too many people use that option and trying to save cost.

I'll be 'Home' on 29th

Marco what about my first 2 questions - If my Z axis dont work with out U26 and U25 what is use of adding Z limit ic???

"1. I see HCPL 2630 optoisolator, I am guessing that needs to be added to U26 and U25
2. I am guessing U33 is 26LS31 in SMD form as used for X and Y"
