Hi for all,
I have a little machine K40, shenhui laser brand, that I upgraded it now with a DSP controller. My DPS is a RDC320A controller, and I put a new 40W laser power supply as the pic attach. The drivers used are 2M415 all purchased from china. Only a 3 digits anmetter and a isolated power module I buy from lightobject.
I wiring all the parts following the K40Conversion PDF tutorial, downloaded from here, and the machine fire the laser ok.
But I have two problems. First one, when I turn on the machine, the anmeter is alternating -0.0, 0.0 or 0.1 in display.
And the second problem: The engraving is poor, as the pic attach. I check the light path some times and it´s ok. I don´t know where is the problem of engraving.
if someone can help me I appreciate it.
Thanks.
sorry, my english is no good.

I'm not sure why you expect support here if you didn't buy the conversion from lightobject but here's my opinion.
What kind of material are you engraving on in that picture and how small is the text? Is it laser engravable material? Lasers don't work on everything. It looks like very small text from the small amount of scan lines I can see. Try lowering the scan gap and slowing the feed down. Judging by the edges of that text it looks like your focus lens might be a bit loose too. I like to engrave non italic text to get an idea how well my machine is working. It's hard to tell what's going on when you have text on an angle.
As for the electronics, ask the seller in China for support.

Hi Toasty, thanks for you response,
I expect support here because are many people with the same machines here.
The material that I engrave is acrilic, and the text is Time New Roman with 16 points, I think it´s good for engrave. I try engrave it in a normal, not a italic and is the same result.
Thanks.

It look like belt or sime gear got loosen.
If not, the motor may be not working propely
Also, check the focus lens see if it is loosen.
If not, make a ring to lock the position

Thanks Marco,
I´m thinking in change the X motor by the X motor, to test it, what do you think about this?

Swap X and Y motor and/or driver see if it can fix the problem
The micro step for this machine is either 1/8 or 1/16

Re: Problem on engraving after upgrade 40k
I´m here again. I trying use my upgraded machine, but it don´t work very well, because the engrave problem continue. When I engrave lines, the result is show in pic attach. no good. I try engrave it with speed 150mm/s.
If I try engrave with 50mm/s the result is better, but no good, as the first pic.
My question: to engrave a good rubber stamp about a 38x10mm what is the speed used?
