Just wondering if anyone tried this or if it's worth trying.
I know you wouldn't be able to use the existing bed in the machine -> I don't anyhow. But the machine is deep enough to accommodate the focal length.
I use the machine strictly for cutting. I've dialed in the machine, but the best I can get to cut through 6mm acrylic (1-pass) is 80% power (16ma) at 3mm/s. There's a slight angle to the cut - very, very, very minor, but still bothers me. I understand this would be addressed by a lens with a longer focal length.
Anyone try a 100mm focal length lens in the D40?

I think I answered you by email and telling you that K40 is not a good idea to use 100mm focus lens because of the week 35W laser tube. If you want to use it to cut soft foam, then it should be OK. But for woods or other harder object, it won't be 'hot' enough because 100mm need higher power laser tube to work with
