Hello all,
I have just about managed to install my new 60w laser tube. Everything seems to be working, but when I did the mirror alignment, I realized the laser beam is quite large, approximately 6mm diameter, and also has a hollow center, so it is more like a ring. My old RF laser had a solid 2mm beam, so I am wondering if this is normal for glass tube lasers ?
thanks

Re: laser beam width
The diameter of Co2 beam runs from 5mm to 9mm so your tube is OK.
However, it' NOT OK if the burning spot is like ' Ring' . How did you test it? You may want to aim to a target of a cardboad in about a feet away from the laser tube. The ideal burned mark should be a solid circle shape. Beam from a lower quality tube may appeaa as a solid "8" shape. A 'ring' shape burn definite a defective tube you received

Re: laser beam width
Well, I checked the beam again today and it is much better than yesterday! no ring and it's also much smaller(2mm diam.)..
There must have been dirt on a mirror or something. Finally one good news!
