I'm finally getting back to my 900x600 laser project.
My Green Z-Table barley lifts my vacuum bed of 15 lbs.
The table has a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
Vacuum bed = 14.5 lbs
Honeycomb bed = 16.5 lbs
Cutting material = 19 lbs
The scenario;
Starting at full lift, the table will bottom out without issues.
When trying to come back up, I get a slow grind/whine from
the stepper and it wont lift. I can get it to lift with some help
from me.
I can go up and down fine as long as I don't drop too far down,
lets say 40%, If I drop more than 50%, I get stalling when trying
to lift back up.
My set up;
LO X7 DSP, 36vdc 10amp supply,
3MD560 driver set to;
Current 5.2a, standstill current 50%, 4000 step/rev
Software set to;
14.0 UM, Z home/work speed 200, start speed 15.0, max
accell 200, max speed 300.
Is my issue mechanical, software settings or driver issue ??
Green Z-Table doesnt lift much weight.

Re: Green Z-Table doesnt lift much weight.
A little fine tune is required on the parameters:
1) Set the micro stepping to 1600 and fine the 'Um' value.
2) Set Z speed to '5~8mm/s'
2) Set Z acceleration to 100~300 range.
Give it a try

Thanks, but it didn't solve the issue, just made it
unbearably slow. I'm going to look at it from a
mechanical view.

When I get some spare time, I'll setup one up here in our office and will tell you exact what parameters I used
My office in under remodeling and I need to prepare a preparation for our new developed turnkey machine, the PRO530. So, I'm a little busy here

Re: Green Z-Table doesnt lift much weight.
I removed the belt and turned it by hand, didn't seem
to bind up. I did notice two "E" or "C" clips were missing,
but not a factor.
I just need a bit more torque, perhaps I could run it
at 48vdc ?

Re: Green Z-Table doesnt lift much weight.
Problem solved ! My mistake, I am so embarrassed
Going over my work, I discovered that the dip switch(s) for current
control was actually set to min rather than max, I had them inverted.
Going strong up and down. Lifting plenty of weight !
I guess my old lady is right, I need glasses.
